The power of BlackBerry
on your computer and tablet
No wires, no saving to a cloud, no transferring between devices. It’s just there.
There are three ways to update your smartphone software if you are running BlackBerry® 10.
See below for instructions on how to update. If your BlackBerry smartphone is integrated within an enterprise, check with your IT department to learn about plans for updating.
In order to download software from this website, you must be using Firefox or Windows® Internet Explorer v5.5 or higher.
If you meet the browser requirements, check for a browser message on your screen prompting you to run an add-on. Once you do so, you should see a “Check for Updates” button here.
With your smartphone disconnected, click Check for Updates.
When prompted, save the plug-in.
After the plug-in is downloaded, open it and click Run to install the drivers.
When the application loader launches, connect your smartphone and select OK to start the update process.
If you receive the message that no updates are available after clicking on the Check for updates button, you may still be able to find software for your smartphone by visiting the software download site for your carrier. Find the software download site for your carrier.
To see if you have the most recent software, or if there are updates available, connect your smartphone to your computer via USB and click the button below.
Please note: Until the update is complete, you will not be able to use your BlackBerry smartphone. Should you unplug or cancel the update process before completion, your smartphone may be unusable and you may need to restart the update process to regain use of your device.
If a new version of the device software is available for your BlackBerry device, it will be listed in the Settings view in BlackBerry® Link on your computer. From there, simply click Install Update to update your software.
You can update your BlackBerry smartphone OTA (Over-the-air) without connecting to computer. To get started, on the Home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen. Tap Settings > Software Updates. Tap Check for Updates.1
BlackBerry® Link is software for your computer that allows you to sync and organize your content, such as music and photos, between your BlackBerry® 10 device and your computer.
Using this software and any updates or upgrades as provided by Research In Motion Limited or any of its affiliates ("RIM") is subject to the BlackBerry Software License Agreement ("BBSLA"), unless otherwise stated. The BBSLA is available at http://www.blackberry.com/legal.
